PHOTO TOUR
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and a large increase in requests for tours/meet&greets, I have made the decision to move to a photo/video tour of the facility. I understand clients need to be comfortable with the kennel they are leaving their dog at and I want to be open and transparent about our setup and the care the dogs receive. However from a safety/stress standpoint it is becoming too disruptive and stressful for the dogs in our care. I am confident that the photo/video tour, along with excellent references from veterinary clinics across the county and 5 star Google reviews will put to rest any reservations clients have about leaving their canine companions with Freedom Acres. Video tour coming soon!
K9 CABIN
The K9 Cabin features indoor/outdoor kennel suites, sealed rubber flooring, and playground chipped outdoor run for the dogs comfort.
All of the dog areas are heated and air-conditioned
K9 CABIN
A larger kennel suite in the K9 Cabin is suited for larger dogs that need more space, as well as dogs that need more privacy as this space does not share an outdoor run fence with any other runs.
K9 Cabin
The kennel suites in the K9 Cabin have solid walls and dog not face each other. This is ideal for shy or reactive dogs who need more privacy.
K9 Cabin
Weather permitting, the cabin dogs can have indoor/outdoor access. Some dogs really enjoy laying at their door and watching the daily activities.
K9 Cabin
Outdoor area of the K9 Cabin. The playground chips are more comfortable for the dogs than concrete. Also, having a small yard around the runs to seperate it from the large playfield allows management of dogs with different personalities and needs in a low stress way.
K9 Cabin
The kennels and runs are large enough to comfortably accomodate breeds such as this Great Pyrenees.
Lobby/Bunkhouse
The Lobby/check in building is called "The Bunkhouse" around here. There are 3 kennel suites in this building, they have solid walls and sealed rubber flooring as well. Everything was designed and constructed for the comfort of the dogs. These suites are larger than the K9 Cabin and have outdoor covered runs as well.
Lobby/Bunkhouse
Some packs may do better being housed together while at Freedom Acres, however the different environment and new dogs may mean your pet needs more personal space while boarding. Each dogs needs are evaluated and adjusted as needed to keep everyone happy and healthy!
Lobby/Bunkhouse
The Lobby is the first area your dog will enter at Freedom Acres facility and its designed to be as low key as possible. This means other dogs may be placed outside or away during check in and we ask you to keep the lobby an "obedience-free zone". Let your dog sniff around and check things out! For their safety, please keep them on leash from your car to the lobby.
Lobby/Bunkhouse
Apparently some dogs REALLY don't want to leave the lobby and go to their kennel suite....and that's ok. Especially if it's their first stay, it's good to let them hang out and get comfortable. Run around the playfield a bit, THEN check out their suite with the doors open. This allows them some time to decompress and figure out there is nothing scary going on! Low-stress handling techniques are utilized whenever possible at Freedom Acres.
The Dog Den
Welcome to the Dog Den! This 30x24 building is fully insulated, finished, heated and cooled and is right next to our home. This makes it ideal for housing special needs dogs that need closer supervision or middle of night checks. The larger suites in this building are also nice for accomodating some of our largest guests, like this handsome Leonberger! The Dog Den also houses a guest bath and the grooming/laundry room.
The Dog Den
In addition to its proximity to our home, the Dog Den is level with the ground outside so there are no steps or ramps. This is helpful for many of the senior guests who are having a harder time getting around. There is also a refrigerator/freezer for clients who bring food or meds from home that require temperature control.
The Dog Den
While I am NOT a groomer, I do offer baths for guests before they go home! Pick up your dog all fluffy and clean. Baths include a brush out, bath, ear cleaning, blow out and nail trim.
Playfield
Here is a view of the large playfield. This is where the dogs go for morning and afternoon playtime either in groups or one on one. There are tugs, squeeky toys, and chuck-it balls galore! In the summer time there is a doggie pool. Currently working on refinishing the adjacent arena for indoor/covered playspace for the rainy season.

Bunkhouse Play Yard
This is a smaller play yard between the Lobby/ Bunkhouse and the K9 Cabin. Great for shy or less active dogs to lounge around in while the ball crazy dogs play in the big field.
Bunkhouse Play Yard
Each dog is different. Some of them are very independent and others are content hanging out on the Cabin porch during kennel cleaning clean and restocking supplies. Whatever makes them happy!
Bunkhouse Play Yard
Did I mention the dogs really seem to like lounging on the cabin porch? It's a great view, I can't blame them!
Bunkhouse Play Yard
Maybe they heard the porch is the best place to make new friends! In any case, I'm thrilled they are comfortable enough to hang out here and get some rest for the next playtime session.
